Part 1: American Prisoner of War Graves
Hear the story of the War of 1812 (2nd War of Independence) and the American Prisoners of War who were kept on Hulk Ships on Plymouth Sound.
Visit American Prisoner of War Graves behind the walls of Dartmoor Prison, originally built in 1806 as an American Prisoner of War Camp to house American and French prisoners.
Part 2: Slapton Sands on Devon coast
Local tea/coffee on arrival where we see and hear from our expert guide where this tragic story unfolded, which is one of the biggest secrets of WWII and resulted in the loss of up to 1000 US Military personnel whilst training on Operation Tiger – 27th and 28th April 1944 in the build up to D-Day landings.

Visit Upottery Airfield, to see the original Nissen Huts and Museum of the 101st American Airborne where our expert guide will detail their mission in the D-day landings. Drive down the runway where these brave young paratroopers took off before being dropped behind the enemy lines in Normandy France on the morning of 6th June 1944.
Experience your own group’s personal American flag raising ceremony which includes an emotional roll call of Easy Company Paratroopers’ names who tragically died on D-day along with the Band of Brothers theme tune.
Part 3: Normandy Hill
See where the American Military Base was situated pre and post D-day. Walk down the US Army’s Route 23 from Normandy Hill to Saltash Passage where the 5th and 7th Corps embarked their ships for their final journey to Utah and Omaha beaches on D-Day.
