A Taste of England Tours
Plymouth in the county of Devon is inextricably linked with the story of the Mayflower Pilgrims. It is from the safety of this superb harbour that the Mayflower finally left England, in September 1620, on her perilous voyage to the New World. Enjoy a guided tour of old Plymouth, the Barbican and Hoe, and visit superb exhibitions about Mayflower that tell the story of the Pilgrims’ mission, their journey and the challenges they faced pioneering new settlements in unknown lands.
The addition of a guided trip to Buckland Abbey, the Drake family home, makes a full day’s tour, enabling us to explore the great changes that took place in Tudor England and
ultimately gave rise to the great migration westwards, across the Atlantic.

- Uncover, with your personal Blue Badge Guide, intriguing questions and evidence of the Pilgrims’ story at Plymouth’s 21st century flagship museum and gallery, The Box.
- Pass under the memorial arch and stand above the Mayflower Steps to reflect on the moment the Pilgrims stepped aboard Mayflower and embarked upon their world changing journey. Find out more at the Mayflower Museum.
