About us

An accommodating and flexible conference venue at Plymouth Marine Laboratory (PML) with facilities to host 10-200 delegates. The venue is located a short walk away from the city centre and the spectacular Plymouth Sound and Plymouth Hoe.

Available from mid-January through to mid-December Plymouth Marine Laboratory (PML) offers an excellent conference and events venue in Plymouth through its Marine Matters Centre.

Located on The Hoe, it is close to the seafront and only a short walk from the historic BarbicanRoyal William Yard and the city centre. PML offers excellent links to the rest of the South West, London and beyond with flights from Exeter, ferries to Roscoff and Santander and the trainstation in the city centre. Plymouth also benefits from being close to the Dartmoor National Park and the Devon and Cornwall beaches.

The Marine Matters Centre provides a modern, fit-for-purpose 200-seat lecture theatre and adjoining networking space with a flexible layout and excellent audio visual equipment (including for hybrid events) and onsite support. Marquees can be set-up on-site for further extension of your meeting and networking space.

PML (www.pml.ac.uk) is a globally recognized, independent academic institution which specializes in delivering pioneering research and relevant knowledge exchange to address the many complex challenges facing the marine environment and ultimately society. The environment and sustainability is central to everything PML does and it aims for all of the events held at its facilities to have a minimal environmental and social impact.
