If you feel a number of your delegation are looking to travel this way, our tourist information centre are happy to set up a manned welcome desk to offer advice and directions for your delegates.
Air
Exeter International Airport is located 1hour away and offers a straight forward connection to the city centre. The route from the airport is direct and transfers are simple to organise via private taxis, coaches or even our reduced rail rates.
Travel Around the City
Part of Plymouth’s key appeal as an event destination is its convenience for delegates. The cities largest conference venue (Plymouth Pavilions) is located in the heart of the city and within 10 minutes or less walk of over 3000 surrounding rooms within hotels and other accommodation. Not only this but the combination of a vibrant city centre and picturesque waterfront offers a range of dining, tourism and hospitality options for delegates.
To encourage delegates to enjoy the city and what it has to offer, we are able to put on dedicated bus services during the event. This will have stops at all major hotels and areas of interest. The route not only includes the train & coach stations but also a number of tourist hot spots such as the historical Barbican and picturesque Hoe.
Aside from the bus route, we can supply reduced price taxi, special taxi ranks placed around the city and also a number of hire car options.
However, as mentioned above, we find a vast number of delegates take advantage of Plymouth’s convenient city layout and that they are always in walking distance of their venue, top class restaurants, hotels and much more. To support this we have available a PDF version of the city map and also printed versions available from the cities hotels, Tourist Information Centre and events venues.
This city map demonstrates the range of options delegates will have on their doorstep.
